Tutorial how to make a cot bumper

You will need

2 fabric peices 50 and a half inches long x 14inches deep

Wadding piece same size

and 12 peices of ribbon 9 inches long

I made my own i just used a bumper i had been given and copied it. The measurements are as follows

Hehe do you like my drawing :)

The bumper has ribbons along the top you could also put along bottom if you wanted

If you are doing any decoration do it on one piece of fabric before making the bumper

Get 2 pieces of fabric 50.5 inches x 14 inches

Place them face to face (the pattern facing each other) with the wadding on the top

now mark with a felt tip or biro a small dot 13inches in from either end

Place 2 peices of ribbon at either end of each section (pin it in between the fabric peices)

Sew along the top

(((You should have a fabric peice face up ribbons fabric peice face down and then wadding piece!)))

Now sew along the bottom and down one side and the other side buut leaving a opening of about 10cm

Turn the peice the right way round

and sew up the gap

Now sew a straight line 13 inches in (see the photo) (this forms the fold for placing at top of cot)

If i've made a mistake please let me know

Heres a pic of the finished peice

Tutorial- Making baby dress from tshirt and fabric scraps

This dress is made out of a baby tshirt (i used long sleeved) and long scraps of material for the skirt

You will need:

a baby tshirt in your desired size

and 2 long peices of material 10 inches width x 21 inches length.

Taking the tshirt measure 7 and a half inches from shoulder down. cut across

(I cut off around 3inches from the length (save this piece

Now take the two peices of fabric and place face to face (pattern to pattern) Pin down the shortest sides (the 10inch bit) and sew/serge.

This forms your skirt peice

turn the skirt peice the right way round

and place tshirt on like so

Now pin the middle of one side of the tshirt to the middle of fabric skirt and at both sides

sorry not a great photo

Then sew/serge the skirt peice to the top gathering as you go along every few cms all the way around do the same for the back peice
I seem to do this different everytime and every one i know does it different too as long as the top of the skirt isn't showing from the front it doesn't matter

Turn the dress right way round

optional:

At this point i added my ruffles which where out of the remaining tshirt material

The 2 peices was 6inch x 2.5inch and 5inch x 2.5inch

I pinned at the bottom of the skirt and in the middle starting at the bottom i sewed a straight line gathering as you go along, Do the same for the other piece.

Now i hemed the bottom of the skirt

Thats its done
